Highlands Ranch Community Gets Open Space Gift
Filed Under Colorado, Commerce City, Denver |
The Shea Homes Community of Highlands Ranch, a community of new homes in Colorado, is receiving 7,200 acres of open space this weekend, to add to the 800 acre community foot print. The new park and trail system is part of an agreement between the Highlands Ranch development, Shea Homes, and the Mission Viejo company.
The trails are open to residents of Highlands Ranch and their guests. Portions of the Douglas County East-West Regional Trail are within the Backcountry Wilderness and are open to the public.
Nature lovers will have plenty of great reasons to visit. The property consists of three ecosystems from grasslands, to shrub land to pine forests. Hikers shouldn’t be surprised to see elk, mule deer and wild turkey in the area.
Gary Debus, Ranch Community Association Manager, commented that “We think this is one of the best open space properties in the Denver metro area and Colorado quite frankly.” Debus says there was no tax payer money spent on the land.
If you are considering purchasing a new home in Denver Colorado, keep in mind that the Highlands Ranch community is actually sold out - but the New Home Builder behind this generous gift of open space park land, Shea Homes, does have other new home communities in Denver Colorado with properties available.
